WHO ARE GREENFONE?
Greenfone is a new UK mobile phone operator. We are small (at the moment), but perfectly formed. Providing services over an internet connection and based in the UK, we can offer services globally. We want to offer you a service that feels personal to you. We do not want to be a big scary operator who makes you feel small.

Our network is regulated by the big cheese, Ofcom in the UK. We provide both in-bound and out-bound phone call services, operating in the unlicensed bands, Wi-Fi and WiMAX. We hope one day to be able to roam onto the big GSM networks.

GREENFONE SERVICES
By taking our Greenfone service you will be allocated a mobile phone number all of your own and the ability to make and receive calls via a Sip based phone or software client. SIP is a technical work for something which helps you make a phone calls over the Internet. It is like a software program that thinks its a phone. These phones can be used either on a computer or a real mobile phone like a Nokia. Just take a look at our service description page for more details on mobile devices.
 
Greenfone cannot pretend to be 'green' in every way, but in order to relieve you of some of your guilt, we plant a tree for every new customer who makes their first pre-payment. We also make sure any electricity we use comes from re-newable sources. All our staff are actively encouraged to grow their own vegetables.
